Dubai Road Improvements Mapped: 4 Key Routes Upgraded

With Dubai always under construction, some roads are motorways with multiple lanes, clear signage, lighting and rest stops while others are still to be completed.

And now, four key roads in the city are better than before as they have been improved by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The ongoing projects are yet to be finished but 72 percent of the construction on internal roads at Margham, Lehbab, Al Lisaili and Hatta is complete.

Paving on roads, streetlights and rainwater drainage systems are in the process of being added to the roads in the residential communities — with the updates being shared on a map posted on X, formerly Twitter, by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Directors, RTA, has revealed that the work is being done to help “demographic growth and urban expansion and foster the wellbeing of residents of the emirate”.

Margham

The internal roads project at Margham covers the construction of roads extending 5km along Dubai-Al Ain Road. Works include road paving, rainwater drainage networks and streetlights. The project serves 11000 residents.

Lehbab

Lehbab’s internal road works include paving 5km of roads alongside infrastructure works of rainwater drainage and streetlights.

The project also covers lighting works of the existing streets extending 2km at the Dubai-Hatta Road beside Lehbab Camel Race Track. The project serves more than 3,000 residents.

Al Lesaili

The internal road works at Al Lesaili span 7km. The project includes street lighting for the existing roads at Saih Assalam near the Last Exit and Al Qudra Lakes. The project serves about 2,900 residents and improves the entry and exit points of the area.

Hatta

The project covers the construction of roads extending 2km at Hatta at Saa’eer, Al Salami and Suhaila.

Works include rainwater drainage and streetlights. It serves about 6,000 residents and improves the entry and exit points. With over 22,000 residents set to benefit from the road improvements, it’s sure to go down well with road users in Dubai.
