Dubai Private Schools To Increase Fees Up To 6 Percent

Are you a parent in Dubai? This update is for you.

Dubai private schools will increase fees by three percent for the 2023-2024 academic year. Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority has shared the news and explained the reasoning behind it.

The authority stated that the newly approved fee increase is due to the current economic and academic situation in Dubai.

Only certain schools are eligible for increased fees, depending on the education establishment score during the most recent inspection.

Under the School Fees Framework, private schools whose ratings have dropped will not be eligible to increase their fees.

Schools that improved their rating in the most recent inspections will be eligible to increase their fees according to the methodology outlined in the School Fees Framework.

Next month, it is looking like kids could have a lot of time off school. The reason is 2023 school holidays plus UAE public holidays in the month could lead to children only having just 10 days in school.

How? Schools are expected to have a break from March 27 and reopen on April 13 for spring break. Then Eid al Fitr is expected to fall on April 20, 21, 22 and 23 (depending on the sighting of the moon).

This would mean that kids will only be in school for five days before Eid al Fitr. After the public holiday, children will then be back at school on Monday April 24 until Friday April 28 before the next weekend starts and then May begins.

The spring break holiday has been confirmed by UAE government website but, as for Eid, we are eagerly awaiting the confirmed dates that will be shared closer to the time.
