Dubai Named One Of The World’s Best Winter Sun Destinations

In Dubai, we get over eight hours of sunlight each day and the average temperature during winter is 24.6°C. And that’s why it’s ranked highly in Travelbag‘s best winter sun destination rankings.

Dubai came third, behind Santiago, Chile, and Cape Town, South Africa, after the travel website looked at the average temperature, rainfall and sunlight hours for winter.

Another highlight that helped Dubai earn a top spot is that attractions in the city receive a score of 4.5/5 on average.

Here are the top five destinations:

• Santiago, Chile.
• Cape Town, South Africa.
• Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
• Siem Reap, Cambodia.
• Doha, Qatar.

Travelbag also delved into the sunniest winter destinations and Dubai featured in 4th place thanks to its 8.75 average hours of sunlight a day.

In this separate survey, Cape Town came first with 10.25 daily sunshine hours on average, followed by Chile’s Santiago in second with 9.25 daily sunshine hours on average.

Third place was scooped up by Abu Dhabi with nine daily sunshine hours on average, followed by Dubai.

Travelbag analysed 50 popular long-haul destinations and compared them against the following metrics: average temperature, average sunshine hours, and average rainfall for the months of October to January, as well as the average rating of attractions and hotels.

Each metric was scored, and an average was taken to create the final ranking. Destinations that had two or more metrics missing were excluded from the final order.
