Dubai Named One Of The Most Picturesque Cities Around The World At Christmas

Dubai is surely beautiful in person, but it looks even more glamorous on screen.

So, it’s no wonder Dubai has made it into the top five of the most picturesque destinations around the world at Christmas.

Listed at number four, it joins the likes of London, New York and Paris as ‘it destinations’ during the festive season.

The study, by long-haul holiday specialists Travelbag, analysed Instagram hashtags for 100 of the best-rated cities worldwide to put together the list. Dubai has more than 60,000 Instagram posts tagged ‘Christmas in Dubai’, followed by Chicago, Vienna, Miami, Los Angeles, Melbourne and Sydney.

London landed in the top spot with 270,000 Instagram hashtags thanks to the glitzy lights, festive atmosphere and winter markets that dot the city. It was followed by New York with more than 255,000 hashtags that showcased everything from snowy Central Park to the stunning lights of Rockefeller Centre. Paris came in third with 73,000 hashtags.

It’s easy to get into the Christmas spirit when in Dubai.

There are several winter markets and pop-ups around the city. Plus, the city gets into the mood with festive shows, beautifully decorated areas to celebrate, light shows and art – all of which make for perfect backdrops when considering that sure-to-go-viral Insta-shot.

It may not snow here, but that doesn’t mean you can’t build a snowman or have snowball fights (hello, Ski Dubai).  You can also decide to spend the day on the beach or go swimming in cool waters.
