Dubai Named One Of The Best Places In The World For A Career In Tech

More and more tech professionals are settling in Dubai with its clever infrastructure and lots of tech companies are headquartered here.

Dubai is even known as a smart city for obvious reasons! So, it’s no wonder Dubai has ended up on a list of ‘Best Places for a Tech Career’.

The city landed the fifteenth spot on the list, and with those in the sector walking away with an average annual salary of Dhs257,996 (that’s around Dhs20,000 a month), it’s an attractive location for those in the industry.

The list by CloudZero, which automates the collection, allocation and analysis of cloud cost data, considered job openings and salaries for five key tech roles when finalising the list.

It factored in tech company presence, broadband speed, central one-bedroom apartment rent and rent as a portion of annual income to identify the best cities for tech careers.

US cities did best on the CloudZero ‘Best Places for a Tech Career’ list with Washington D.C. and New York coming in first and third.

In Asia, Japan’s capital, Tokyo made it in the top ten with Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing also making the list.

And European cities Zurich and Copenhagen came in eighth and ninth.

Among the findings was a growing demand for software engineer roles. Other in-demand jobs in the sector are cloud engineer, machine learning engineer, data scientist and information security analyst.
