Dubai City To Install A Series Of Tremendous Artwork
Dubai residents are soon going to notice a cultural shift, and of course, for good reasons.
The UAE government entity Dubai Police Art will be transforming the city into an accessible and global art gallery, ensuring that visitors and residents can experience exceptional art.
The goal of this is to contribute to enriching the cultural and artistic scene of the region.
The new initiative is in collaboration with Tashkeel, Art Dubai, Al Serkal Avenue, Jameel Arts Centre and Akaas Visual Arts, which have announced open calls to all artists to participate in presenting a series of unique, site-specific art installations that will be distributed across Dubai.
Applications are now open for UAE-based artists to submit a proposal for the inaugural commission taking place through Dubai Culture, which will be unveiled in late 2023 in one of Dubai’s most beautiful public gardens in Al Hudaiba, which overlooks the Etihad Museum and Union House. The deadline to submit applications is February 13, 2023.
Shortlisted artists will be announced at the 16th edition of Art Dubai on March 1 to 5, and each will receive a fee of US$5,000 to create a detailed proposal and a prototype of their pieces.
