Delays Are Expected On Dubai’s Key Road For Next Two Weeks

There is no doubt that Dubai’s transport system is consistently improving, particularly in summer – with a whole host of projects lined up to improve the city’s infrastructure.

Just last week, new measures were announced that look set to reduce the travel time in Dubai Marina by 20 minutes.

And this time, work on Dubai’s roads means that motorists can expect delays on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road at Al Ghubaiba and Al Mina Street’s intersection.

The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) has announced expected delays, due to remain in place until 5am on Sunday July 23. Drivers have been asked to follow directional signs and use alternative routes to aid traffic flow – on Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Kuwait or Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Streets.

The RTA also announced service delays on numerous bus routes, due to the Falcon Intersection Road closure. These include routes: 6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 21, 29, 33, 44, 61, 61D, 66, 67, 83, 91, 93, 95, C01, C03, C05, C18, X13, X02, X23, E100, E306, E201, X92 and N55.

It comes as Dubai’s population has risen by almost 100,000 in just 12 months – with the government expecting the overall count to double by 2040.

The new stats show that, during the 12-month period between 2022 and 2023, almost 100,000 people moved to the city.
