Dubai Uses Hundreds Of Drones To Light Up Night Sky

When it comes to celebrating festivals and events, Dubai is always on the top. Having said that, the city’s residents and tourists have been wowed by intricate design in the form of drone shows many times.

Here are some of the most beautiful moments in the sky by the emirate city.

Dubai Shopping Festival 2022

Recently, the Dubai Media Office shared photos of a drone show held to mark the Dubai Shopping Festival.

The design shows a hand holding a pen and writing the word ‘Dubai’ in beautiful Arabic calligraphy.

The final product is the word Dubai shimmering above the famous skyline of the city. 500 drones were used in all for the presentation.

This year’s Dubai Shopping Festival includes drone displays that can be viewed for 46 days.

DSF Drones Light, the region’s longest-running drone display, debuted on December 15 and will run in two sites through January 29, 2023.

The performance is a display of 3D drones that are coordinated to perform a distinctive choreography to specially created music.

Sheikh Zayed Festival 2021

On the first day of the Sheikh Zayed Festival in November 2021, drone displays of the UAE’s leaders and fireworks lit up the skies over Al Wathba.

The Festival’s emblem and an image of a falcon were created by hundreds of drones with LED lights.

Spectacular drone exhibitions will also be featured at the festival this year.

UAE Leaders

The late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who passed away in 2021, received an incredible homage. The world’s longest-serving finance minister, the late Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was portrayed by hundreds of drones lighting up the night sky.

In a 10-minute performance that set a new record in 2019, 300 drones were used. They were programmed to create portraits of the UAE’s leaders, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The drones wrote a message in Arabic that read: ‘Thank you, Sheikh Mohammed.’
