Cinema Akil Displaying Classic Films From Across The World

Summer of Classics at Cinema Akil is back.

Running from now until Thursday September 14, it will include eight films from around the world.

Curated by the expert cinephiles at Cinema Akil you can see films from Lebanon, Senegal, France, India, the US, and Germany. The Summer of Classics film festival is running in partnership with the Goethe Institut and the French Institut in the UAE.

Films on the line-up include:

• Hairspray (USA)
• Mandabi (Senegal)
• Once Upon a Time: Beirut, The History of a Star (Lebanon)
• Sans Soleil (France)
• To Be Or, Not To Be (USA)
• The Coward (India)
• Thelma and Louise (USA)
• The Doll (Germany)

Throughout the festival, the films will show multiple times so you can book tickets when it suits your schedule.

Tickets for the films cost Dhs56.50 and seats are given out on a first-come-first-come service, so you should arrive early to nab the best sofa.

If you want to watch all eight films you can book a season ticket for Dhs240, which is a saving of approximately Dhs208.
