Homegrown Farm-To-Table Restaurant Gerbou To Open In Dubai

The city always has new openings to look forward to.

And there’s another to add to the list as homegrown farm-to-table restaurant Gerbou will open in Dubai at the start of 2024.

Touted to open in January, Gerbou, meaning welcome in Arabic, will be a restaurant concept and space hoping to be a celebration of Arab and Emirati cuisine.

Headed up by Chef Ionel Catau, there will be an international menu focusing on locally-sourced, organic and sustainable ingredients.

Moreover, there will be an outdoor underground pit for cooking, which will give smoke-infused flavours that hark back to Emirati cooking traditions.

Emirati chef Sahar Al Awadhi is also involved and the famed pastry maestro will bring new recipes to the restaurant.

The venue will be inside a 1987 Dubai building in Nad Al Sheba and will offer indoor and outdoor settings, with exterior elements shaded by indigenous Ghaf trees. Sounds dreamy.

Sketches of the restaurant look impressive with plenty of welcoming seating areas, unusual architecture and earthly elements, such as wooden and stone furniture.
