Big T BBQ Reopens This Weekend After A Short Summer Break

How about trying out delicious Southern barbecue this weekend? The bare-bones Texas-style barbecue joint located deep within the Al Quoz industrial area is reopening its doors on Friday September 8, after closing its doors for the past four weeks.

Owned and operated by Palestinian chef Fadel Faour a.k.a “Big Tasty”, the venue has been hugely successful over the last few months, with dishes selling out within hours of opening.

Operating only three days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Big T BBQ is a place where you should expect to line up to get a taste.

It usually has 40 minutes waiting time, depending on what time of the day you visit. But once you taste Big T BBQ’s brisket, you’ll quickly realise that it’s worth your time.

Unlike many other Dubai restaurants, the space is like a budget high-school cafeteria, where you’ll be enjoying your meal in a dining hall of mismatched furniture near a pile of firewood. You can’t make a reservation and there’s no silverware.

The menu features a selection of traditional southern barbecue dishes including ribs, beef cheek, Texas sausage, pastrami, brisket and burgers which you can pair with mac n’ cheese, seasoned fries, cornbread, potato salad and coleslaw.

Desserts at Big T BBQ include banana pudding, vanilla cheesecake and tres leches.

Head down to try some authentic American barbecue, just make sure you put on some comfortable shoes while you’re at it. You might be queuing up for a while.

Reopening Sep 8. Fri-Sun noon-10pm (or until sold out). Al Quoz Industrial Area 4 @bigtbarbecue (058 886 7569).
